
IPLA - Individualized Prior Learning Assessment
The Individualized Prior Learning Assessment (IPLA) program is one through which an individual can obtain his/her National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) certification based on evidence of past experiences, achievements, or work experience in the operation of Heavy Equipment.

Requirements
This program is suitable for the following persons:

Currently employed in heavy equipment operations
-
Possess prior experience on heavy equipment machines
-
Did not receive formal training/certification in heavy equipment operations

Certification
Students will gain an NVQ Certificate upon competition of the program to become certified operators​

The certification process begins with candidates submitting a portfolio that demonstrates their competence as Heavy Equipment Operators. This portfolio should showcase skills, training, and experience, and may include work samples, practical evidence, photos, letters, and other materials aligned with the required standards. Information can come from both daily job activities and past work experience.
